All parents/guardians will be required to agree to the Parent's Pledge during on-line registration. It is repeated below for your reference:

Parent's Pledge

We hereby pledge that we will conduct ourselves, at all times, consistent with the principles contained in the League’s mission statement:

The mission of Elmhurst Baseball & Softball League, is to provide to all of the youth of Elmhurst, regardless of their ability or gender, a positive experience:

By promoting the principles of good sportsmanship and fair play;

By teaching, encouraging, and supporting, sound fundamentals through good coaching;

and By ensuring that all youth have a safe, fun, yet challenging opportunity to enjoy the game.

In submitting our child’s application to play in the Elmhurst Baseball & Softball League, we do hereby pledge that we will follow and adhere to all of the rules and regulations of the League. (A copy of which can be found on our website at www.elmhurstbaseball.com.)

We understand that the rules and regulations of EBSL impose certain duties and responsibilities upon us as parents and spectators and we hereby accept those without qualification.

We further pledge to:

  • Encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, managers, coaches, and umpires at every game or practice
  • Place the emotional and physical well being of all the participating players ahead of our personal desire to win
  • Support all of the managers, coaches, and umpires working with our children in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all
  • Help our children set realistic goals
  • Emphasize improved performance, not winning
  • Control our emotions during games and events
  • Encourage and help our children to understand and fulfill their commitment to their
teammates by: 
being on time for games and practices; attending all practices;
 trying their best at all times;
 being tolerant, respectful and understanding of all their teammates regardless of their ability
  • Not smoke at the fields or parking lots during games or practices
  • Not consume alcohol before coming to games or practices or drink at the site of games or practices
